Wherever you stand on Solange-gate, you have to admit that Anya Hindmarch has played a blinder with a cheeky new ad.

Spotting a marketing opportunity in Solange’s apparent attack on Jay-Z in a Manhattan hotel elevator, where the singer used her Crisp Packet clutch as a blunt instrument to bludgeon her brother-in-law while Beyonce looked on, the brand has created a tongue-in-cheek new campaign.

The metal clutch, which retails at £995 and can clearly be seen in the 3-minute 30-second video of the post Met Ball incident – at one point Jay-Z picks it up and proffers it back to his enraged sister-in-law – features in the ad, along with the words, “The Crisp Packet Clutch: Worth Fighting For”. Clever marketing ploy or cynical cashing in? We’ll leave you to decide. But we sort of want that bag.
