Let us count the ways: white, white leather, white perforated leather, white neoprene dresses with mesh inserts. Add in sports bras, visors and distressed denim and you have NYFW summed up already, give or take a bumbag or two.

That’s not to say you could find these pieces anywhere else. Donna Karan owns a certain kind of dressing and that spirit infused an admirable collection. Easy, chic and mainly monochrome, the finale gown summed it all up. Floor-length and fluid, its top was a swimsuit - fitted skin tight over the torso, cut away daringly on the shoulders - a very modern reworking of the designer’s famous ‘body’ which defined her for so long. Worn on hot Brit models Cara Delevigne or Jourdan Dunn, the idea came to life once more.
