Their appointments earlier this year to the luxury houses of Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent has seen the industry buzzing with speculation. Writer Holly Shackleton predicts how they will reinvent our wardrobes in these high-profile new roles.

While Simons had his first Dior couture show in July, when Slimane also presented the 2013 Saint Laurent resort collection to buyers, both designers are preparing for catwalk shows at Paris Fashion Week this September, where the industry will see what they can really do.
