It happens often enough: runway roadkill. When a model, faced with structurally unsound heels, a slippery catwalk, or just weak ankles takes a tumble to the amusement/horror/bewildermderment of the audience/model-in -uestion/designer. Delete as appropriate. But when compiled into a video montage, set ironically to Jo Cockers You Are So Beautiful To Me, they take on a whole new level of agonising mortification. We watched most of it between our fingers.

It used to be that a catwalk tumble spelled career death, but it seems those days are over. Just look at Karlie Kloss: she fell three times during Naomi Campbells Fashion For Relief show in Cannes last year, and then again on the Versace spring summer 2012 runway. And now shes being touted as the next Gisele.
