Joanna Sykes to leave Aquascutum

Joanna Sykes, design director at Aquascutum, will exit the troubled British fashion house at the end of June.

Sykes’s coolly modern collections for the heritage brand have been consistently lauded since her appointment in 2010. Her departure is the latest change in a restructuring process that has seen Aquascutum close its Corby factory and make 115 staff redundant.

New CEO Tim Dally told WWD that Sykes’s departure was a mutually agreed step for the company.

‘It is very early days for us as a new management team, but we will shortly announce structural changes that will focus the business and ensure the longevity of this incredible British heritage brand,’ Dally said.
