Relative newcomers to the design world, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are in exceptional company as Time magazine include them in its 100 greatest fashion icons list...

The young designers and ELLE April coverstars, who have no formal design training, feature alongside industry greats Coco Chanel, Christobel Balenciaga and Azzedine Alaïa; all chosen for their unquestionable impact on the world of fashion since 1923, the year of Time’s release.

The Olsen’s launched their brand in 2007, following Ashley’s quest to find the perfect T-shirt – a mission that has since inspired a chain of diffusion lines, Elizabeth & James, Olsenboye for JC Penney and StyleMint with each encompassing their signature boho appeal: . ‘We just want to create beautiful things,’ she told us in – and now with Time backing their efforts, it seems the design duo have proved that they really are two of a kind.
