Designers Karen Erickson and Vicki Beamon faced up to the challenge of trying to marry the clothes and the jewelry, Erickson told the New York Times, devising a series of 1920s Berlin-influenced dresses with integrated bling.
Of course, were doing jewel tones, Erickson added, speaking to the paper before Erickson Beamons autumn-winter 12 presentation in New York on Thursday night.
The dresses on show included designs with built-in necklaces, brooch-like embellishments where bodices met straps and delicate strands draped over shoulders.
[I]ts time for us to be spreading our wings, Erickson said.
