Erickson Beamon's new clothes

The crystal mavens behind Erickson Beamon have created a capsule collection of dresses dripping with their signature jewels.

Designers Karen Erickson and Vicki Beamon faced up to the challenge of ‘trying to marry the clothes and the jewelry,’ Erickson told the New York Times, devising a series of 1920s Berlin-influenced dresses with integrated bling.

‘Of course, we’re doing jewel tones,’ Erickson added, speaking to the paper before Erickson Beamon’s autumn-winter ’12 presentation in New York on Thursday night.

The dresses on show included designs with built-in necklaces, brooch-like embellishments where bodices met straps and delicate strands draped over shoulders.

‘[I]t’s time for us to be spreading our wings,’ Erickson said.
