Topshop marks a decade of NEWGEN support

Topshop will launch a series of t-shirts to celebrate its first ten years as the sponsor of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN scheme.

NEWGEN recipients from the past ten years have contributed designs for a series of limited-edition t-shirts to mark the milestone. The NEWGEN t-shirt project will see t-shirts from designers including Christopher Kane, Erdem, Peter Pilotto, Jonathan Saunders and Mary Katrantzou sold to benefit Centrepoint, a charity aiding London’s young homeless population.

Topshop has in recent seasons established its show space in the former Eurostar terminal at Waterloo and in Old Billingsgate Market. For the A/W '12 shows, Old Billingsgate Market will once again serve as the venue, though organisers promise a bigger, more dynamic production than that seen in previous seasons.

The BFC established the NEWGEN scheme in 1993 and Topshop became the sole sponsor in 2001. Since then, the initiative has helped emerging London design talents establish their businesses in an increasingly respected market.
