Isn’t it drag when you turn up in the same outfit as someone else? While we can’t completely save you from sartorial embarrassment (it’s a daily occurrence in the ELLE offices), there is a whole host of brands on hand this season to help you stand out from the crowd.

From pyjamas to plimsolls, handbags to beachtowels, personalising your kit has become the stamp of 2014. And in an Instagram-age where we have all become obsessed with ‘brand me’, what could be more fitting than making your bag/shoe/coat/cat a bit more, well, me.

If you needed any more validation then take your cue from , who for their recent sent models down the catwalk in personalised Grease ‘Pink Ladies’ style bomber jackets. If Karlie and Georgia May say it’s cool, then we want one too.

We’ve picked our top five personalisation services.

Prada – Get one step closer to shoe utopia and have your dream shoes emblazoned with your initials. The new Made To Order Décolleté collection launches in-store this week and allows customers to pick the style, colour and material of their shoe, with the icing on the Prada cake being your initials delicately placed in metal below the iconic designer logo.

Available in-store only

Yolke – British lifestyle label Yolke offers a monogramming service on almost all of their products. And with a wide selection of silk pyjamas, jumpsuits and soft furnishings to choose from you will be spoilt for choice. Have your initials embroidered onto the pocket of a pair of their silk pyjamas and you’ll never have an unsettled night’s sleep again. Heck, why not go all the whole way and get your cushions and blankets monogrammed to match?

Available from Yolke.co.uk

Longchamp – Heading to the beach this summer? Don’t go anywhere without your initials stamped into one of Longchamps’s colourful beach bags. The newly launched collection, named ‘Personalized Le Pliage’, allows you to choose from 3 styles, in 8 colours, and change the handles, tab, straps and lining. Then get your initials either embossed or punched into the leather to top it all off. Now, that’s what we call a service.

Available from the Regent Street Flagship Store or on line at Longchamp.com

Penelope Chilvers – Monogramming is nothing new for shoe designer Penelope Chilvers, who has been her personalising her Dandy slippers for the style-savvy for years. But it’s not just initials on the table here. Feeling tropical? No problem. Who needs Tulum when you’ve got gold palm trees on your feet.

Available from Penelopechilvers.com

Etsy.com – For unmitigated monogrammed madness look to Etsy.com, where you can have you initials emblazoned across just about anything. Our favourite is the sweatshirt with interlocking letter embroidery, but the fun doesn’t have to stop there. Personalised beach towel, iphone case or Jenga game anyone? Or how about a monogrammed garment bag, to keep all of your monogrammed clothes clean and crinkle-free?

All available from Etsy.com
