Last month, Victoria's Secret announced that it would stage its fist-pumping, booty-shaking phenomenon of a catwalk show in London for the first time ever.

Its longest serving Angel, Adriana Lima, talks us through it...

I love everything about London. I think the people here have a great sense of style; it’s the capital of fashion in the world. The architecture is beautiful, great musicians, great music… Everything.

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show is one of the most watched shows in the world - it airs in over 200 countries. So you gotta be ready. I work out throughout the year, not because of the show, but because I love it. But a month before, I increase the intensity.

What I do is boxing. And I love to run - indoors, on a treadmill. But I prefer the jump rope. I love the jump rope.

Before the show, I try to meditate. I put together a playlist – every year is different – and I don’t like to talk a lot. It’s hard, because there’s a lot of press before the show, and I like to get into my meditation mood. Because once you get out there you have to give so much energy to the people that are watching and that will watch on television so I try to save that.

It’s almost like acting. You create a character. You build up this character and, once you get out on that runway, you bring that character out.

I usually eat healthily. I’m a mum, and I have to set an example for my children. But, you know, sometimes it’s OK to for you to eat something bad. After the show I might eat a burger and some chocolate cake. I’m crazy for chocolate.
