Alaïa told a WWD reporter that he will show ‘semicouture’ designs during the high-fashion week, which takes place in Paris from 4-8 July.
The legendary designer rarely shows during seasonal fashion weeks, preferring to work to his own timeframe and present each capsule collection in an intimate setting.
Campbell actually lived with Alaïa when she was a 16-year-old breaking onto the modelling scene in Paris. In an interview last year, she recalled watching the designer cooking impromptu Tunisian feasts for dozens of guests, then returning to all-night fittings.
‘It was just amazing to watch him create and be part of the memory of him creating something, because he was a unique designer and still is,’ she said.
