Held at London's Royal Courts of Justice, this year's event was its 25th and promised to be bigger and better than ever - it didn't disappoint. As well as more Brit designers than you could shake a stick at, both Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham (wearing a full length black gown from her own label) put in an appearance. Flame-haired model Karen Elson took a dramatic tumble from the stage, before gracefully recovering and stepping back up to present Grace Coddington with the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.
The evening started with a champagne reception before a dinner with a speech from Sarah Brown. Once guests had admired each others outfits and caught a glimpse of Mrs Beckham, Lauren Laverne took charge of proceedings and kicked off the awards.
Accessories designer Holly Fulton and design duo Peter Pilotto picked up Swarovski awards for emerging talent. Georgia May Jagger, who arrived with model mum Jerry Hall, caused a stir by beating Daisy Lowe and Rosie Huntington-Whitely to the Model of the Year award, which was presented by the dashing Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Christopher Kane won the award for British Collection of the Year, Kim Jones picked up Menswear Designer of the Year and a shell-shocked Katie Hillier was crowned Accessory Designer of the Year.
Brown's founder Joan Burstein was on hand to award John Galliano - who she discovered 25 years ago - with an Outstanding Achievement award. But as he was unable to be there his friend Kate Moss stepped up to accept it. Minutes later, the supermodel was back on stage to accept the much talked about London 25 award, as voted for by you. The award was introduced by Topshop boss Sir Philip Green and handed over by Dame Vivienne Westwood. 'Lila will love this', said Kate as she was given her remarkably heavy Swarovski Crystal prize.
And Kate wasn't the only person to return to the stage more than once. Burberry's chief operating officer and newly crowned MBE, Christopher Bailey accepted the award for Designer Brand of the Year, then was presented with the biggest award of the night - Designer of the Year, by Victoria Beckham.
The party was packed full of stars and fashion’s glitterati. We spotted Natalia Vodianova, Henry Holland, Simon and Yasmin Le Bon, Pixie Geldof, Claudia Schiffer, Princess Beatrice, James Corden, Rosamund Pike, Gareth Pugh, Richard Nicoll, Jonathan Saunders, James Brown – the list is endless.
