SO. Apple did its big, fancy launch event today. The thing they do every now and then to get everyone tech-y freaking out, make all iPhone users immediately want an upgrade, and to inspire all Dads to make the classic joke about calling themselves iDad.

Today's launch was pretty important. We didn't get the iPhone 7, but what we did get is even more interesting: the iPhone SE. There were a couple of other little upgrades that are probably worth knowing about, so we've recapped all the action from the event below.

1. APPLE LAUNCHED A NEW IPHONE THAT'S SMALLER AND CHEAPER

Small-handed people, rejoice. The new iPhone won't sprain your pinky. Meet the iPhone SE. It's smaller than the iPhone 6, but with all the exciting features - 4 inch screen, 12MP camera, A9 64 processor.

It's also a little cheaper than the 6 - £359 for the 16GB, £439 for the 64GB. It's launching at the end of March, and will be available in silver, grey, gold, and rose gold.

2. THERE'S ALSO GOING TO BE A SMALLER IPAD

It's the same as the iPad Pro, but erm, smaller. So it's essentially just a fancier version of the iPad air with a few more features. Again, it's out on the 31st of March, and will also be available in rose gold. Which is exciting as it's the first iPad to come in this shade.

3. YOU CAN UPGRADE TO IOS 9.3 TODAY...

...but there's nothing THAT exciting going on. It just means that notes can now be touch password protected and there are more personalised News updates. One cool thing is that we don't need to panic as much about our iPhones ruining our sleep. The new update features Night Shift, which reduces the amount of blue light and makes your phone's screen show warmer tones when it's nighttime.

4. APPLE WATCHES WILL BE A LITTLE CHEAPER

The Apple Watch will retail at $299 instead of $349, after one year of being around. Apple's also introduced some new watch strap options made of woven nylon. Snazzy.

5. IF YOU'VE GOT AN APPLETV, REJOICE. THEY'VE JUST FIXED A REALLY IRRITATING PROBLEM.

YOU CAN NOW ACCESS YOUR ICLOUD PHOTO LIBRARY ON YOUR APPLE TV. Finally, a solution for the most first world of problems.
