London design firm LaBoca has concocted four posters in the style of Polish and Czech posters from the 60s and 70s, and ballet adverts from the early 1900s a la Ballets Russes, reported the Guardian.
All four posters blend the features of a fragile dancer with those of a menacing black swan, heightening the tension with a stark black, white and red colour scheme. The beauty, ambition, anxiety and balletic rigour that pervade the film are all there (confession: I saw this on its opening weekend in New York... and yes, it’s that good).
We’ve already made enquiries into acquiring the posters... which one would you choose?
