Fashion is once more showing its philanthropic side, with the announcement today that is to present the first ever Save The Children benefit gala in New York.

Taking place on 1 October at A-list lunch hangout Cipriani, it is thought that guests at the glittering event will include high-profile Save the Children supporters Hillary Clinton and Jennifer Garner - recipients of the National Legacy Award and National Child Advocate Award respectively.

The host for the evening will be former First Daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, who will present a short film about the charity’s work, produced by Garner.

Mark Shriver, of Save the Children, said, 'With nearly 1 in 4 children in the United States living in poverty today, there is an even greater urgency for increased investments in high-quality early learning programs. The gala will shine a spotlight on this need and, we hope, inspire Americans from all walks of life to take action.'
