The spring/summer 2013 campaign, which celebrates an impressive 40 years on the scene for the British-born denim label, was shot by photographer Josh Olins around its birthplace of Notting Hill.
‘I am very happy to be part of the team, considering the line up before me,’ says Cara of the shoot. ‘Alexa and Sienna are great friends of mine. I worked with Josh Olins, who is brilliant and lovely. I loved the whole team so much.’
The British Fashion Council’s reigning model of the year cites ‘travelling’ and ‘the people I meet’ as the best things about her job, which is apt, considering the Pepe brief sees her free-wheeling around west London with Mia Goth and Jeremy Young as part of its ‘Have You Seen Pepe?’ concept.
‘I am a tomboy by day,’ admits Cara, speaking exclusively to ELLE. ‘For the red carpet I pick a character and project that person. I can wear anything and feel alright if I can make that part work.’
So, in a fire, which item would she be sure to pluck from her wardrobe to safety?
‘Definitely my leather jacket.’
