The brand – which counts Alexa Chung and Emma Watson amongst its greatest fans – is to add another string to its bow with a range of sunglasses and spectacles that will launch in Spring Summer 2012.
The retro-inspired frames made their debut on the Carven catwalk during Paris Fashion Week, adding verve to a collection that was brimming with crowd-pleasing bouncy skirts, signature starched collars and winking flashes of midriff. Inspired by the glamour of Paris in the Fifties, the range of 12 ophthalmlic and 13 sunglasses will come in colours such as tortoise, amber and electric blue, with accents of metal and wood on the rounded frames. With names like Odette and Rosalie, and a subtle ‘C’ embellishing each pair, we reckon we’ve already found the IT-accessory for all the coolest faces on next summer’s festival circuit.
The glasses range is the latest innovation for the 66 year old Parisian couture label, which got a new lease of life in 2009 when Guillaume Henry joined as Creative Director and injected the RTW with its newfound youthful vigour.
