Chime For Change, the charitable initiative founded by Gucci, is continuing its campaign to promote education, health and justice for women of the world – by giving them a voice online.

Spearheaded by legendary journalist Marianne Pearl, chimeforchange.com/stories launches today with five original short films, told through the lens of filmmakers who have been inspired to share real life stories on the issues faced by some of the world's 'voiceless' girls and women.

The launch follows the films' unveiling on the big screen at The Sound Of Change Live last month, during which the charity's co-founder Beyoncé performed a 45-minute special set alongside other leading artists including Ellie Goulding, Florence + the Machine, HAIM, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Laura Pausini, Rita Ora and Timbaland (not to mention a speedy appearance from her multi-millionaire partner, Jay-Z).

'We will shine a spotlight on those who are fighting for education, health and justice for girls and women by sharing stories about real people who are speaking out and rising up to change the course of history,' says Chime For Change co-founder Salma Hayek. 'These films tell intimate, personal stories – but these stories represent universal themes. And now we can all play a part by turning inspiration into action.'

Focusing on the charity's three pillars of education, health and justice, the five stories include that of a young Iranian who dreams of becoming an astronaut; the journey of 30 grandmothers who are trained as solar engineers; the story of a UK activist who uses social media to highlight the issue of sexual harassment; an animated film about female lawyers in eastern Congo; and a girl who heartbreakingly profiles being sex trafficked as a child.

Chime For Change supporter Madonna also makes a cameo as a voiceover artist in one of the films, Humaira: The Dream Catcher.
