A new exhibition opens tomorrow showcasing the work of photographer Corinne Day, entitled, ‘May the Circle Remain Unbroken’.

Day died three years ago of a brain tumour and the show has been painstakingly curated by her husband, Mark Szaszy, along with Jackie Haliday from Gimpel Fils gallery, publisher Aron Morel, former agent Susie Babchick and Corinne’s best friend, muse and collaborator, Tara St Hill, to champion a small slice of the enormous numbers of photographs that Day took over the course of her career. A book with the same title is also set to be released at the same time.

Best known in the fashion world for her shoots of a teenage Kate Moss in The Face, Day’s passion was for taking raw, unpolished photographs of friends and new faces, often snapped in her flat in Soho. The exhibition and book focus on her earliest work, intimate photographs taken from 1987 – 1996.

May The Circle Remain Unbroken, October 18–November 23 at Gimpel Fils Gallery, London. The accompanying book is published by Morel books.
