Derek Lam was spot-on with what have emerged as some of autumn winter’s most relevant trends: masculine and oversized coats, shiny leather pants, luxe furs and shearlings and enveloping sweaters.

In a beautiful and solid collection, Lam offered a multi-platform of extremely wearable garments that were easy on the eyes. From the suiting and jackets, not to mention a box bag, covered in an embroidered floral pattern to the exceptional outerwear, this was one of Lam’s strongest collections to date.

While not every woman will be able to wear a sequined crop pant, Lam’s eye for geometry is undeniable. The chic, minimalist pairings were further heightened by the tremendous investment in details and fabrics. Leather was omnipresent—be it on fitted baseball jackets, streamlined shells or on the shoulders of a long ivory silk gown. All in all, the collection offered a luxurious edge without turning stiff.
