Why do children get all the luck? Not only was Stella McCartney's collaboration with Gap a couple of years ago for Gap Kids, Diane Von Furstenberg is doing the same thing. DVF's inaugural childrenswear collection for Gap was such a success that she is hopping back on board for a second season.
The NY-based designer will produce spring/summer designs across the Gap Kids and Baby Gap lines, to be launched in-store and online in April. So if you know a stylish child mark it in your diary.
‘I really loved the challenge of translating my designs into the first DVF for Gap collection. It was so much fun to see little girls wearing the pieces,’ says DVF. ‘I’m looking forward to collaborating with Gap on this second collection.’
Although there is as of yet no word on what kind of prints she’s working on, expect plenty of colour and signature DVF playfulness – bumblebee and heart motifs were a runway success the first time around.
‘Diane’s iconic prints, signature silhouettes and optimistic color palettes really resonated with our customers around the world,’ says Steve Sunnucks, Global President of Gap. ‘After a successful first collaboration, we’re thrilled to continue working with Diane and excited to see what she will bring forward in her second DVF for Gap collection.’
