The ELLE Fashion Cupboard has had a makeover.

Illustrator and ELLE favourite Lo Parkin has spent the last few days armed with pens (and plenty of patience) creating her signature hand-drawn illustrations across its windows.

Here's how it went down...

Are you an aspiring artist?

Here are Lo’s top five tips for becoming a successful fashion illustrator (and pretty much anything else, we say).

1. Work hard & stay focused – I set myself small goals to work towards that will hopefully act as building blocks to create the bigger picture. It’s important to know what you want.

2. Persevere & believe in what you do – Sometimes you have to work for free, sometimes you’ll miss out on dream jobs and sometimes you’ll worry you're not good enough, but it’s all part of the learning process. You have to have confidence in what you do.

3. Ask questions – I’ve always been a big believer in asking for advice. The support I have received along the way from tutors, friends and creative professionals has been invaluable to my career.

4. Be inspired – It sounds obvious but it’s so important to be aware of what’s going on around you and let yourself be inspired by it.

5. Don’t be scared to get your work out there and contact people – The worst that can happen is someone will say no. And if they do, just try again.
