While we’re yet to discover whether Emilia Wickstead will be the designer behind the Duchess’ Christening outfit tomorrow, we do know one thing that the West London-based designer is excitedly counting down to for sure: the final of the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize.

We caught up with Wickstead – who is in the running to scoop a £25,000 cash injection for her business, along with fellow finalists Fyodor Golan, Barbara Casasola and Huishan Zhang – ahead of the awards ceremony on 29 October. She also gave us a sneak preview from the specially edited collection she’ll present on the night, above.

How are you preparing for the final?

I am anticipating the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize final with a lot of excitement and hope, of course! I am preparing by selecting my strongest and most well-received looks from Spring Summer 2014.

What can we expect from your catwalk presentation?

The catwalk presentation will showcase favourite designs for a stylish and spirited modern woman.

What would winning the prize mean to you?

Winning the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize would mean a lot for the Emilia Wickstead label. It enhances our opportunities as a company to do lots of different things that we’ve had our eyes and minds on doing, and it will help us with taking our business to the next level.

Tomorrow: we check in with Fyodor Golan.
