If it all ends tonight, this is what the ELLE team will be wearing to say farewell to the world as we know it.
‘I will wear a long Jil Sander coat - fashion and utility in one!’
Lorraine Candy, editor in chief
‘My ridiculously vertiginous Nicholas Kirkwood heels since I don't have to worry about the residual pain/ball of foot blisters tomorrow.’
Sophie Beresiner, beauty director
‘I want to be blown up wearing the McQueen bee keeper outfit that opened the spring/summer 2013 show. Preferably at the bar of the Connaught hotel!’
Stacey Duguid, executive fashion editor
‘I'd want to be as comfortable as hell, so, starting from the bottom, my Falke sock slippers, my brushed cotton pyjama bottoms, my favourite Quicksilver vest and, best of all, the massively baggy v-neck cotton sweater from Next which I've had since I was 16. Mmmm.’
Tim Knowles, acting picture editor
'I'm betting on the chance that it doesn't have to be the end of the world for everyone, so I'm going to be wearing a special Bear Grylls-style survival jacket - with lots of pockets to store the following: Swiss army penknife, bottle of water, water purifying tablets, that dried space-capsule food that you just rehydrate and has a zillion calories so you can keep going forever, a corkscrew, silk sleeping bag that rolls up into nothing but is incredibly warm, a couple of bottles of champagne, cafetiere and Colombian coffee, those gel packs that warm your hands; several lighters, a wind up, battery-less torch, solar-powered, multi-gadget charger, a mobile (not sure who I'd be ringing), and an iPod - to drown out the eerie, post apocalyptic silence.’
Susan Ward Davies, travel editor
‘My dream apocalypse outfit would be a skydiving suit so I can watch it all happen from up high!’
Alice Parfrement, acting PA to the editor in chief
‘Head to toe leather like the guy in the Village People. I'd even shave the beard off and work a handlebar moustache! Vrrrrroooom.’
Andrew Falconer, managing editor

‘A pair of cashmere pyjamas. I'd like to be comfy when it all ends.’
Natasha Pearlman, deputy editor

'I'll be wearing all my clothes at once. All those layers should serve as pretty good protection from the harsh apocalyptic elements, and if I do survive I'll have my whole wardrobe with me.'

Georgia Simmonds, features assistant
‘Whatever happens I will make time to put on a spritz of my favourite fragrance – Nassamato Black Afgano.’
Sunil Makan, picture assistant
