Made-to-order shoe label, Upper Street has teamed up with charity Save The Children for the Born To Walk Tall campaign in collaboration with the British Fashion Council.
Celebrities including Helena Bonham Carter, Erin OConnor, Hayley Atwell and Tamsin Eggerton have all taken inspiration from their childhood dreams and memories to design a pair of shoes theyd love to walk tall in.
Erin OConnor spoke exclusively to ELLE about why she wanted to be involved.
Having travelled to India and experienced first-hand the everyday challenges faced by millions of people, particularly innocent children - I felt overcome with admiration at their dignity and strength. I feel compelled to use my visibility to highlight their cause and to act in a way that may be useful.
Erins design inspiration came form her love of pantomime artist, Pierrot whose flamboyant costumes and sense of fun she loved as a child. Needless to say my addiction spread from dolls to bed spreads, hand bags and customised outfits.
I wanted to create something exaggerated that would look magical to any age group. I was keen to design a stylish flat, because I wanted to prove that style and functionality can co-exist in harmony!
The model was aiming for a chic and playful design and even offered her styling tips Personally I would wear mine with a black leather high-waisted A line skirt and my favourite Bella Freud sweater.
