With a graduate collection snapped up by Dover Street Market and the Vauxhall Fashion Scout Merit award in the bag, Royal College of Art graduate Eudon Choi must have felt high expectations from his on-schedule debut. But he certainly didn’t let it affect him. Thanks to sponsorship and guidance over the last year, Choi’s craftsmanship and masculine style tailoring has been propelled to new, more mature and covetable levels.

Choi’s inspiration was set from the get-go. If the Wapping Project’s Jules Wright’s grainy black and white wall projection and binocular installation weren’t a big enough indication, the opening model’s fur-hooded jacket was sure confirmation that this was Choi’s adaptation of contemporary polar attire.

Drawing on his obsession with Captain Scotts’ infamous polar expedition, Choi transferred a prevalent menswear trend into a feminine aesthetic. A multitude of outerwear from cocoon coats in white leather, grey suede and shearling were overlaid sleek pencil skirts and skinny tailored trousers in rich turquoise suede. With a polished and paired down palette of white, grey and navy, the luxe leather, suede and fur details made for a minimalistic-meets-sleek sports infused collection. Hand crushed sequin panels added the finishing touches and complimented the fur-trimmed hoods, gloves and leather.

He’s already established himself as a name to watch, and now he’s confirmed himself as a must-own designer.

Bravo Eudon.
