Ferragamo creative director Massimiliano Giornetti has turned to the archives to reissue a capsule collection of super-luxe crocodile skin kitten heels to accompany his pre-fall 2012 collection.
The Ferragamo archives at the Palazzo Spini Ferroni in Florence contain more than 1,000 shoes, dating from the Twenties, when Salvatore worked in Hollywood and studied anatomy in order to best understand the foot.
In keeping with the demure Sixties flair of the collection, the low-and-ladylike shoes come in razor sharp pumps, dainty sling-backs, T-bar Mary Janes and a pair of lace-ups, in tones of claret, emerald, chocolate and burnt caramel.
What I want to create is accessories and garments that will never lose their allure; that go beyond trends and can be used for years and years, says Giornetti on the T Magazine blog. What really can be defined as classic will never lose an intrinsic message of modernity.
Prices are Birkin-high but, one things for sure: you will wear these forever.
