Richie will launch a line of clutches and tote bags through her House of Harlow 1960 label. Although we received early word of the handbag line last April, it has taken until now for us to see any photos or learn more details about the collection.
‘Handbags have always been a part of the equation since we first launched the House of Harlow 1960 brand,’ Richie told WWD. ‘We just needed to make sure all of the components were aligned before setting foot into that category. The collection is quite small in terms of the styles we are launching with. I wanted to make sure that each piece is special and then be able to grow it slowly and organically season after season.’
The initial 14-piece collection includes hard-cased clutches and studded, textured tote bags. There’s a whiff of McQueen about the clutches, and the shoulder bags look like just the sort of styles a would-be rebellious Hollywood daughter might tote a change of clothes in for a big night out. Or, you know, shoes. For the commute to the office.
Look for the seventies-inspired bags at regular House of Harlow stockists Selfridges and My-Wardrobe from December.
