Blooming bride Lily Allen has a wedding-day surprise

Lily Allen wed beau Sam Cooper in a classic English countryside wedding yesterday, adding reason to celebrate with a special announcement: shes pregnant!

Allens new husband shared the news with guests at the wedding breakfast, and a small bump could be seen under Allens curve-skimming lace wedding gown.

Created by French bridal designer Delphine Manivet, the vintage-inflected gown continued the long-sleeved bridal trend. A layer of Calais lace formed a demure round neckline and ¾-length sleeves over a sweetheart bodice, then continued into a full lace skirt. The empire-waist gown culminated in a three-foot train.

Manivet said that Allen travelled to France three times in recent months for gown fittings.

Lily is a girl who is quite rock and roll, but her wedding she wanted to be traditional, Manivet told the Telegraph.

It's beautiful that she is pregnant, and I am very happy for her. She is very happy about thatit is something wonderful.

You can see of course the little stomachit looked very cute with the dress. For me, and for her too, when you're pregnant you want to show that, but also be respectful, so the dress was perfect for her for that moment.

Wedding-watchers anticipated that Allen would marry in a custom Chanel gownthe singer even told WWD that Karl Lagerfeld was designing her dress in a March interview. Instead, it appears that Allen changed into a Chanel gown for the evening reception.

The singer and boutique owner completed her bridal look with a 1920s full-length veil with floral headpieces securing it to her romantic waves. Manivet said that Allen cried the first time she saw herself in a veil.
