The Italian brand has just unveiled a new website that allows you to explore some of its rooms and stand-out exhibits, from the iconic floral scarf to the bamboo handbags, and there are three sections to explore; The Archive, Gucci and the Arts and The Museo.
The museum, the brainchild of Guccis Creative Director, Frida Giannini, opened in 2011 and houses a permanent exhibition drawn from the labels extraordinary archive alongside a rolling line-up of contemporary art exhibitions.
Giannini explains, Ever since my first visit to the archive when I joined Gucci, I have felt a deep commitment to the Houses legacy and have wanted to showcase this rich history to celebrate the remarkable narrative behind so many of our iconic products and motifs. This was the motivation behind the creation of the Gucci Museo, as the House turned 90 in 2011. Now, three years on, I am delighted that through the internet we can open the museums doors to a global audience.
