The big winners were Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who picked up the much coveted award for Womenswear Designer of the Year, while Alexander Wang bagged (no pun intended) the Accessory Designer prize and Michael Bastian was awarded Menswear Designer.
In the closely fought Swarovski awards for emerging talent Prabal Gurung fought off the Olsen twins and Joseph Altuzarra to secure the Womenswear Designer award, while Eddie Borgo nailed the Accessory Designer category and Robert Geller picked up Menswear Designer.
As we already knew, Marc Jacobs picked up the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to him by Sofia Coppola. And the UK's very own much-worshipped Phoebe Philo was honoured with the International Designer Award, handed over by one of her biggest fans, Kanye West.
Fashion photographer Arthur Elgort was given the Board of Directors Special Tribute Award, and the Daily Telegraph's soon-to-retire Fashion Editor, Hilary Alexander, was presented with the Media Award.
