The ANDAM Six

The ANDAM foundation names six fresh designers as finalists for its 2011 award.

Winning the ANDAM prize can transform designers careers. When Giles Deacon won in 2009, the Dalston-based designer moved his studio to Parisand arguably put himself in Ungaros sight lines when the house was seeking a new designer. Hakaan may have had Carine Roitfelds evangelical support ahead of his 2010 win, but the prize money pushed the designer to international recognition.

Now, its a new crop of designers turn to vie for the 2011 ANDAM prize. Adam Kimmel, Anthony Vaccarello, Commuun, Jeremy Laing (work pictured here), Matthew Harding and Yiqing Yin have been shortlisted for the prestigious award.

The French foundations prize carries 200,000, mentorship with former Chloe boss Ralph Toledano, exhibition (read: publicity) space at Frances Galeries Lafayette department store, a 10,000 donation of Swarovski crystals, andmost cruciallythe chance to show collections at Paris Fashion Week.
