A couple of weeks ago US department store Barneys announced that Daphne Guinness would get ready for the Met Ball in one of its New York store windows. It promised to be a spectacle, a work of art no less and trust us, if we were based in the Big Apple we'd have gone to watch - if only because it sounded so crazy.
Anyway, yesterday afternoon Daphne duly stepped into a perspex box in the window - ever discreet she did not strip off in front of the crowd - and dramatically dressed herself in an extravagant feathered gown by her late friend, Alexander McQueen. And then she left, to much applause, and made her way to the ball, held in honour of the British designer.
Luckily the team over at The Cut were there to capture the whole performance, including some onlookers who gave the hardly wallflower-like Guinness a run for her money in the style stakes. Check it out hereMore
