We can't imagine the pressure of having to get dressed for the annual Met ball (our invitations always seem to get lost in the post...). Picking out the perfect dess for what is surely the most fashion-forward party of the year and getting red-carpet ready would reduce us to a bundle of nerves, so we certainly don't think we'd want to undertake the ordeal in public. But then we're not Daphne Guinness.
The couture-loving socialite has joined forces with Barneys New York for a six week project. The store will be screening a film about Daphne's life, displaying dresses from her private collection and from Isabella Blow's wardrobe which she bought last year. And together they will be staging a piece of performance art - on 2 May Guinness will prep herself for the Costume Institute Gala in the window of Barneys' Madison Avenue store. Rumour has it that she'll be stepping into an Alexander McQueen gown, so it should be quite a sight.More
