In the six months since Lily Allen and Sarah Owen opened Lucy In Disguise, the vintage entrepreneurs have added a retro beauty parlour, dressed an X Factor contestant and found themselves onscreen as subjects of a reality TV show.
Now, the boutique owners are turning to fashion design, with a line of dresses based on some of their most cherished vintage pieces.
Allen and Owen worked with a design team to blend elements from different vintage garmentsa neckline here, a sleeve detail thereinto a range of 18 timeless frocks.
Theres Regatta, a mint-green polka-dotted day dress with a scalloped neckline and ruffle hem; a tea dress named after scone-and-cake palace Fortnum & Mason, and a couple of darling 50s-style prom dresses that wouldnt look out of place on Lily Allen, circa 2007. Were rather taken with the red-and-purple ombré Claret maxi-dress (flower behind ear most advisable).
Look for the collection, priced £95-£350, in Harvey Nichols and Lucy In Disguise (online and in-store) from June.
