Hervé Léger: models ‘are too skinny, too sad’

Hervé Léger, the designer whose bandage dresses hugged just about every supermodels curves through the 90s, has said he doesnt miss runway presentations at all due to out-of-touch physical ideals.

[If] I had to go back to catwalk presentations I would be in a panic because today people are so out of touch with the reality of everyday life. Already the models I find are too skinny, too sad, Léger told the Daily Front Row. And I knew the age of the super top models, Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford, who were always lively and smiling. Today you go between several défilés and you will see the exact same type of girlit just doesnt inspire me.

I love women, I love curves, and Im obsessed with the female body so I love women with a bust, with hips, and a real size, he said. I only work with this image in mind, so I dont like clothes that hide a womens form.
