Irreverent, Carine Roitfelds forthcoming autobiography, may elicit some snark about the former Vogue Paris editors current relevance (irreverent... irrelevant... just us?). But apparently, publisher Rizzoli is confident enough in the books allure to price it at $100, or $67.50 for US pre-orders.
Even at that price and seven months ahead of its October 4 release date, the book is making strides toward publishing goldits Amazons seventh-bestselling fashion book. (Right now, it's sandwiched between a tome about Michelle Obamas personal style and Helmut Newton classic Sumo.)
Authored by Roitfeld and edited by Purple editor Olivier Zahm, the book also lists journalists Cathy Horyn and Amy Larocca as authors. Anna Wintour gets a contributor credit.
Zahm has described the book as a scrapbook of Roitfelds life in style, encompassing personal mementoes and behind-the-scenes images from her most unforgettable shoots.
