A master of the pretty floral print, Erdem shook things up for Autumn Winter and chose to be inspired by Monet, through the eyes of Jackson Pollock. The result was a more frenzied floral print than we are used to with paint splashes across dainty watercolour and distorted roses. But youd have to look pretty closely to notice that this collection had any erraticism.
From a distance it looked immaculate, just like Monets work. The elegant pencil dress shapes, slim fit sheer blouses and long gowns we love were just the way wed left them. This time however, with a shaken up digital print, jewel embroidery and the addition of velvet.
As the industry in London is accused of ignoring the commercial audience in favour of the next big idea, Erdem is chasing the reverse. His fans will love this collection and you cant beat the feel and cut of slipping on a piece of Erdem it really is one of the most flattering pieces youll ever own. But it would be wonderful to get back that element of surprise that he has achieved until now.
