Temperley’s Return

After two years of showing New York, Temperley pulled out all the stops. At the British Museum with its marble and glass rooftop as the backdrop, Temperley pulled out all the stops and offered an opulent, elegant and truly beautiful collection that harked back to the designer’s heritage in extravagant eveningwear.

With lace dresses delicately encrusted, sleek silk cocktail dresses in a muted palette of champagne, mink and black interspersed with a shot of Venetian red, and extravagant floor-length bridal-inspired gowns, Temperley brought luxurious eveningwear back for this celebratory show.

Although no new ideas were offered, this was Temperley at her best. In a season that looks more focussed on great pieces rather than new ideas, this was one that created elegant, sleek and highly covetable pieces that had the crowd cooing.
