This years Central Saint Martins MA show once again highlighted the famous fashion schools unrivalled ability to breed new design talent.
With an array of talent on display, it was down to ELLEs Fashion Features Director Rebecca Lowthorpe to choose and announce the winners. And with key editors and Daphne Guinness sitting front row, there was the annual hype over who would be announced as the next big thing.
This year the award was shared between textile designer Phoebe English and her black hair and lattice PVC creations and Viktor Smedinge whose black and cream parchment tailored dresses impressed the judges. So who else do we predict to rival former graduates such as Richard Nicoll, and Christopher Kane? Well from womenswear it was undoubtedly William Hendrys feminine minimalism- which also caught Designer brand Chloes eye, bagging him the Armani Bursary and the Chloe Award. While in the boys corner, it was Shaun Samsons use of tartan and cable knits on over-sized T-shirts and tailored trousers that caught our eye.
