The Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden initiative is renowned for hunting down and propelling to stardom some of London's hottest designers. Erdem, Basso & Brooke and William Tempest have all reached the competition's final, and it's seen as such serious business within the industry that Naomi Campbell, Tom Ford, Donatella Versace and John Galliano have all graced the judging panel. But while we tend to focus on the womenswear designers that are championed, Fashion Fringe is also busy helping out budding accessory designers.
This year it has roped in Italian footwear brand Roger Vivier to be its partner for the 2011 Accessories prize. The label's artistic director, Bruno Frisoni, will be heading up the search for a lucky footwear designer who will win a six month apprenticeship at Roger Viver.
