It's possible that you haven't heard of Katie Eary yet. The London designer has been making a name for herself on the capital's fashion scene thanks to her cool, modern take on menswear. But now, at last, she's branching out into the realm of womenswear - so it's time to start paying attention.
Katie is set to show her first women's collection at London Fashion Week next month, so we thought we'd catch up with her to find out what makes her wardrobe tick. Her hottest tip? Steal from the boys. 'I'd describe my style as boyish elegance - I steal all my boyfriend's clothes,' she tells us. And when it comes to shopping, '...my secret is looking in the men's section. I love to wear men's tailoring with striking heels and scarlet lipstick to make the look mine again.'
And if you thought that her androgynous tendancies meant that her style is understated, think again. She reveals that her she feels most comfortable wearing, 'Leopard, leopard, leopard worn with black leather trousers, epic heels and white hair.' And what, aside from animal print, is there the most of in her wardrobe? '...Far too many sequins. This is problematic because I am no longer in love with them, but cannot throw them away.'More
