The flamboyant fashion editor looked decidedly more babysitter-next-door than muse extraordinaire in a 1980 commercial for Italys Marte Ricotta Forte.
Dello Russo, then 18, extols the virtues of the spreadable cheese (we think...) in the archive video.
Heres what Dello Russo said about the advert:
I was 18, I was in Bari, it was a hot summer after my last year of high school, she told Swide when the video emerged over the summer. They propose me to do a COMMERCIAL VIDEO, I was excited thinking they would give me a video about fashion clothes I got a CHEESE commercial. They paid me 100,000 of THE OLD LIRE, at the end I was happy cause I got a NEW PAIR OF SHOES.
Honestly, Dello Russo's glasses and blue granny jumper only endear her to us further giving us hope that mere mortals, as well as fashion icons, can get better with age.
