Now in its third season, CS X OC not only consistently sells out, but it typically contains pieces that become IT buys of the season- like A/W 2009's buckle boots and 'Holiday' leopard cardigan. Her 2011 Resort collection is full of extremely wearable pieces, described by Sevigny as 'street-wear inspired by early Benetton;' but really more breezy daywear with a bit of her trademark edge. The styling of Sevigny herself in the lookbook gives an idea of how the pieces are meant to be worn, with much of their quirk coming from juxtaposition of prints and styles- think slip-on leopard and ditzy print dresses, worn with baseball jackets, clashing low denier tights, and chunky boots.
Accessories are stand out this season, with round-framed, kooky sunglasses made by Barton Perreira (former designers at Oliver Peoples) and inspired by Andy Warhol ingénue, Candy Darling. Shoes are platformed and high, modelled on styles worn by Sevigny in her youth, and made by cult LA manufacturer Na Na. While we work out how to manage a five inch heel, we'll be ordering some of the ditsy print tights.More
