They designed the sell out bag of the year with their 'Alexa' range, scooped the Best Designer Brand prize at the British Fashion Awards on Tuesday, and celebrated a 79 percent rise in sales. Now Mulberry have iced the 2010 cake with a majestic new flagship on New Bond Street.
Georgia Fendley, Brand Director, Mulberry said this week; "We are immensely proud of our British heritage and our reputation for craftsmanship; we wanted to facilitate the translation of these quintessential elements of our brand into our retail interiors". That means the use of lots of quality British materials and traditional building techniques, as well as pioneering new methods of energy conservation.
The vast, 5400 foot store, is designed to have all the modern appeal of a warehouse space, but with an appearance that will become softly worn in over time; rather like a classic Mulberry bag.
