Mary Katrantzou's Spring 2011 was without doubt one of the ELLE team's favourite LFW shows - we're itching to get our hands on all those bold interior prints and lampshade skirts. And it seems that we're not the only ones who thought her collection was brilliant - the designer has just been awarded the 2010 Swiss Textiles Award.
She fought off competition from five other designers - Jason Wu, Damir Doma, Adm Kimmel, Juun.J and Duro Olowu - to bag the 100,000 Euro prize, which she has to use to fund the future of her business. No celebratory trip to Chanel for her.
A quick glance at the previous winners proves that Mary has now officially moved from young designer to serious fashion industry player - Alexander Wang, Rodarte and Marios Schwab were the last three winners.More
