Designers Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi centred on the fashion houses history with leather and intricate macramé. This was used on simply shaped fitted dresses, minis, bustiers and floorlength dresses.
The talk afterwards reminisced about the late Ferres iconic white shirts. Aquilano and Rimondi may have looked in to the archive for their leather and macramé inspiration but a little further back will reveal what the crowd is really looking for.
After todays announcement that New York-based merchant bank Prodos Capital Management is part of a consortium that will acquire Gianfranco Ferre - which has been under bankruptcy protection for the past 19 months - it may mean a more defined and stable vision is in the offing.
