are having a lot of fun with their D&G line. For Autumn/Winter 2010 they went on an alpine adventure, for Spring/Summer 2011 they're ticking off another quintessential seasonal activity; the garden party.
With a blooming stage to rival the Chelsea Flower Show, it began with gardening-inspired floral apron dresses, canvas ¾ length dungarees, checked headscarves, heeled gumboots and not a Homebase green fleece in sight. Next came the prettiest array of sundresses, onesies and shorts and cami combos that will provide maximum waft appeal on lawns throughout the land. Floral prints came Colefax & Fowler large to Liberty print small and were mixed and matched together with antique lace and crochet.
We were treated to a finale of seven long floral chiffon gowns worn with printed patent wedges (floral of course) cinched in at the waist with string belts. A fresh, youthful, fun collection and a credit to the boys that somehow - despite all the sugary flowers - it was in no way twee.
