Ever since she hit the schedule back in 2007 Louise Goldin has been a London Fashion Week favourite. But this season Louise decided to give the catwalk a miss. Instead she's teaming up with Nick Knight on a film that will be streamed online - and you could have the chance to direct it.
For two days in October a model will wear the pieces from Louise's spring 2011 collection and 80 people will each get a ten minute time slot in which they'll be able to direct the model via Skype. There will be celebrities and fashion insiders taking part, as well as friends, students and members of the public.
We caught up with Louise yesterday at the St Martins Lane Hotel - and got a first look at the incredible new collection - and asked her why she decided not to show on the runway this week. 'I was feeling like a robot, bash out the collection, do a show, do the casting, do the hair, do the make-up, I wanted something else,' she told us. 'I dont like continuous, monotonous process and I felt like this season I wanted to absorb my collection and see it all on one super model and see how they move and work.'
So how did the idea of a film come about? 'I really just wanted to work with Nick having followed Show Studio. I had this mathematical, scientific vision of like this futuristic beach and Tomb Raider, couture sports girl and he loved the drawings and he was like, were going to make this film.
