The character we see on Britain's Next Top Model is forever bitching. The Julien we hear shouting to his models to "work it, love it!" before his show starts, and the one working the room like a model when he takes his bow, is from the Bruno school of fashion. Since he's decided - or been persuaded - to ditch the Bruno professionally, his collections are beautifully strong and tasteful.
In the grand venue of Whitehall's Banqueting House, a flock of PRs spritzed Jo Malone's Red Roses scent along the catwalk. Perhaps to cover up the cable TV star in favour of some moviestar mystique. Bridget Bardot-style backcombed hair was a fitting accompaniment to a stream of negligee wisps of dresses in nude, blush, cloud and black. Silk trains sailed behind baby doll slips, some had lace sections, some were mulit-tiered, some shirt dresses used a pyjama print but the bedroom - and a 70s one at that - was the clear inspiration.
